Tasting NotesRich at a glance, a swirl gives way to a nose that stays true to the classic Merlot varietal with aromatics of dark cherry, plum and a delicate whiff of tea leaves wafting over the top. A complete and balanced wine from the start, the final blend includes a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon to bring out broad tannins on the mid-palate and Petit Verdot to stretch the tannins through the finish. The resulting combination of dark fruit flavors make up the core with added layers of raspberry and cassis. The mouth is soft and developed, while the strength of the fruit hides any bitterness and melds well with the astringency of the new oak. This vintage, with a bit more acid, displays a level of brightness that evolves into a seamless finish.
