Founded with a tiny 4 hectares by Andre Bonhomme in 1956 the estate was at the forefront of the establishment of the appellation in 1998 and included specific rules about the amounts of residual sugar in the wines. Today the domaine is still family run and covers 18 hectares of Vire-Clesse.
About WineViré Clessé Vieilles Vignes is produced from vineyards that are between 75 to 90 years old. A blend of stainless steel vats and oak barrels (15 % new fine grained French oak) with 24 months maturation prior to bottling.
