Mugneret is a well-known name among winemakers in the Côte de Nuits, particularly in Vosne-Romanée, where it has existed for many generations. The domain today is headed by Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée Mugneret both managing the vinification and maturing of wines.
About WineFrom the Les Chalendins and Les Croix Blanches vineyards that were purchased in 1934, at the same time as the house. Their 2009s capture the silky, sexy personality of the vintage while maintaining a classic, mid-weight sense of structure.
Tasting NotesThe 2005 Vosne Romanee displays fresh black raspberry, ginger snap, cinnamon, and fetching florality on the nose, a silken palate of winsome purity and freshness, and a finish of great refinement that mingles marrow and anise with black raspberry and brown spices. One can expect to begin enjoying this wine almost immediately but for it to take on further complexity for as long as 10-12 years.
