The word "Gewurz" means "spicy" in German, and this is the most notable characteristic of wines made from this uniqe varietal. Grown and produced mostly in Alsace, France, Gewurztraminer is delicious, fruity and with strong aromas and has a very perfumed and flowery bouquet. Chile, Australia, and California are not too far behind in quality.
